WGU is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented payroll expert to join our team. The right candidate is highly experienced in using ADP PayXpert software, detailed oriented, a self-starter, enjoys multi-tasking, is flexible, and is passionate about accurate work. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing WGU's bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for more than 700 employees, processing workers compensation claims and managing facility operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Enter and process accurate and timely payroll for growing multi-state employer with 700 plus employees
- Collects, reviews, and enters new employee information into payroll software
- Processes multi-state tax reporting
- Manages workers compensation claim processing
- Audits HR data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Develops supportive relationships with other HR team members to act as liaison to other departments and supports growing company
- Generate and maintain accurate, weekly and monthly HR reports
- Responds to HR related employee inquiries, identify common HR issues and assist with the development of solutions
- Manages facility operations
- Assists with miscellaneous departmental duties and special projects
- Self-starter, excels at working with minimal direction; highly collaborative and functions well within a team
Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years experience processing payroll, with progressive advancement.
- Strong working knowledge of ADP Pay Xpert, EZ-labor, and HRB software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized and results-oriented
- CPP or PHR certification highly desired
