Job: Critical Care Tech - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

This position is a combined technician/patient care assistant role that will be responsible to assist the registered nurse with care given to patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position is a 12 hour shift, rotating day/night, every other weekend position. Responsibilities include: technical assistance with monitoring equipment, set-up of all monitoring equipment, assisting with in-house patient transports, assisting with admission of patients to the PICU, and assisting with activities of daily living and nursing care to children in the PICU.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in critical care. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a stressful environment while working well with patients and staff. Enrollment in an accredited nursing school with completion of 2 clinical rotations and/or one year patient care/critical care experience in an inpatient setting is highly preferred. A BLS Certification is required, as well as a high school diploma.


Minimum Requirements

- CNA License or completion of one semester of nursing school

- EMT Certification is preferred

- MA certification is preferred

- Graduated from High School or GED
- Basic Life Support certification
