Join the Social Work On-Call Team at Primary Children's Medical Center for opportunities working with trauma, bereavement, mental health, and other identified crises throughout the hospital. Training, supervision, and mentoring are available. We need social workers who can commit to at least 4 shifts per month. This position will work on-call to ensure social work coverage responding to all needs in house. Must be able to reach the hospital within 1/2 hour of call to work.


Essential Responsibilities:

Provision of social work services, counseling, emotional support, resource referral, mental health therapy, and consultation to patients, significant others, and groups involved in the health care systems
Provision of direct social work services to patients and their families in relation to psychosocial/emotional problems including assisting them with anxieties and stress precipitated by illness and hospitalization and in dealing with social or practical environmental problems, concerns, or challenges
Acts as an advocate for patients and families in assessing, planning, providing, referring, and coordinating services along the continuum of quality care
Participate actively in inter-disciplinary rounds, care conferences, inservices, etc
Provide on-call coverage and interventions as job requires
Providing teaching and education to patient and family members

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
Completion of Social Work education from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program with a clinical concentration of course work and practicum
Licensed in the State of Utah as a CSW, or LCSW


Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
Ability to speak Spanish fluently
