Job: Medical Social Worker, Clinical - Primary Children%27s Medical Center - PRN

Location: UT-Salt Lake City

This position provides direct social work service to psychotherapy to patients and their families in relation to psycho-social and emotional problems within a medical setting. This includes assisting them with anxieties and stress precipitated by illness and hospitalizations as well as helping them deal with social or practical environmental problems, concerns, and challenges. This position acts as an advocate for patients and families in assessing, planning, providing, referring, and coordination services along the continuum of care in a cost effective manner. Will work on an as needed basis weekdays and evenings.

Must meet the following to qualify:

Masters of Social Work degree and licensure in the State of Utah as an LCSW or CSW
Have completed social work education from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program with a clinical social work concentration of course work and practicum
Must demonstrate a full range of verbal and written communication, and possess the ability to work in a professional manner consistent with the standards of the hospital, community and the profession
Intermediate Level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred skills include Spanish speaking and previous experience in a medical/hospital setting.
