Facility: Primary Children%27s Med Join the great teams on the Children's Surgical Unit (CSU)/ Children's Medical Unit (CMU) at Primary Children's Medical Center! The PCT works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the clinical setting and performs basic pediatric patient care for the patients on the Children's Surgical Unit or Children's Medical Unit and related activities as delegated appropriately. The PCT will be cross-trained between for both the Children's Surgical and Children's Medical Unit with a great opportunity to learn and develop Pediatric skills. This position is a full-time, TEMPORARY position that will go from October 2009- April of 2010. This position will be on a first cancel basis. This position is designed for candidates who are currently enrolled in Nursing School and have completed the first semester of hospital nursing clinical or have CNA certification. Duties performed are that of Nursing Student or CNA. Job Essentials Include: Collaborates with the RN to create, prioritize and deliver the plan of care to all assigned patients Obtains, accurately documents and utilizes patient assessment data within position scope of practice and as delegated by the RN Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADS's) Assists the Nurse with admission, discharge, transport and transfer of patients Assists the Nurse in providing non-ADL patient care utilizing specialized training, hospital/department protocols and standards to provide optimal safe patient care. Ensures efficient use of supplies, equipment and work time in order to provide cost effective quality care to the patients Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with patients, families, nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team Takes initiative to improve the work environment including: offering solutions to problems, and complying with policies, guidelines and procedures . Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent BLS certification Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Previous health care experience or current enrollment in a recognized clinical health care career program Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English Requires CNA certification or completion of the first semester of hospital nursing clinical. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. Important Notes
