Job: Security Officer - Wasatch Canyons

Security officers support the mission of the hospital by providing a safe environment for patients, visitors, volunteers and employees. Officers are responsible to enforce policy, provide assistance and direction, respond to emergencies, and to provide protection to personnel, visitors and property. This position will primarily support the Wasatch Canyons location of Primary Children's Medical Center in Taylorsville. Must communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise manner. Officers must be able to demonstrate good judgment, excellent customer service and problem solving skills.

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED. Officers must have one year of security, law enforcement, corrections,public safety or other related experience and possess a current Utah Drivers License with the ability to prove a clean driving record. Secondary foreign language skill is helpful. The job requires that officers stand and walk for extended periods of time. They must be capable of running for one hundred yards in response to emergency situations. Officers must be capable of lifting fifty pounds, bending and stooping in order to assist staff, patients, and visitors. Past work experience in a behavioral setting is a plus (especially with conflict resolution, scene assessments, and safety practices).
