Facility: The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Looking for an entry level healthcare position with the opportunity to advance? Would you be surprised to discover that there are hundreds of surgical instruments used on a daily basis? If you are a detail-orientated person who would enjoy being part of the team that provides fast paced service for the surgical team at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, this position is right up your alley. This position is responsible for learning the policies and procedures within the department to ensure that all surgical supply instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized and distributed. A Central Processing employee must gain the necessary knowledge and experience required for them to become a resource to the doctors, nurses and patients who are the primary customers of this department. Skills / Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age. Requires High School Education or GED. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing with people in various situations. Must be able to work 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday including holidays that fall during normal shifts and rotating weekends about every 4 to 6 weekends. Must be able to follow work instructions and procedures accurately and with attention to detail. Must be able to identify from memory supplies instruments and equipment. Must be able to meet physical demands of the position, ie. ability to regularly lift 50 pounds, be on your feet for entire eight hour shift including walking, pulling, pushing, twisting, etc. Candidates will be requested to receive the Heptavax vaccination series upon hire. Candidates will be required to complete a home study course to become a certified Sterile Technician within 6 months of hire. Important Notes
