Jobing Description
Location: UT-Salt Lake City
Facility: Primary Children%27s Med

Primary Children's Hospital Food Services department is looking for a top-notch candidate to join an outstanding group of culinary professional. The incumbent would be responsible for preparing, cooking, and storing food for the cafeteria and catering units of a 240-bed tertiary care facility. Preferred experience includes cold food preparation (i.e sandwiches, salads, etc.)

Skills / Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year previous food service experience in an institutional setting
Maintain a current food handler's permit
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
Competency with the grill/fryer, oven, steamer, tilt skillet, and steam kettle
Must follow standardized recipes and have competency in batch cooking
Cold food preparation experience preferred
Maintain a clean and neat work area while practicing proper safety
Operate and care for equipment
Make contributions to initiate needed change and pursue excellence
Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all customers
Participate in unit-specific Continuous Quality Improvement Initiatives
Read, write, and speak English
Work independently
Problem solve
Communicate effectively
