This position is the Assistant Chief Development Officer for the Southwest Region and its respective hospitals and reports to the Southwest Region Chief Development Officer. This position manages professional and administrative staff as assigned. This position will have direct accountability for the development and management of operating/capital budgets. Responsible for protection of assets and the sustained integrity of donor restricted funds. May be the lead staff representative for board committees to include finance and planned giving at one or more hospitals' Foundations. Will be responsible for assisting the SWR Chief Development officer in the conduct and management of philanthropic activities in the Southwest Region of Intermountain Healthcare which includes three hospitals: Dixie Regional Medical Center, Valley View Medical Center and Garfield Memorial Hospital. In addition, this position partners with Valley View and Garfield Memorial Hospital's administrator in supporting their affiliated Foundations with comprehensive fund-raising activities including: capital campaigns, major gifts, special events, planned giving, and other campaigns and/or solicitations. The Assistant has regional accountability for development programs and management functions as established annually in concert with strategic planning to strengthen philanthropy and assure the availability of funding to support Intermountain Healthcare hospitals and services in southwestern Utah.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field is required (non-profit management, philanthropic studies, finance, public relations/communications). Master's preferred. Certified Professional Fundraising Executive (CFRE) is preferred. Five+ years demonstrated experience in professional fund raising, marketing, public relations, and/or sales required, healthcare experience preferred, with two years experience in direct fund raising required. Demonstrated skills in producing technical and thoughtful documents including gift approaches and grant proposals. Demonstrated skills in strategic planning and the development of program proformas. Experience balancing negotiations in complex organizations. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required. Knowledge of word processing and spread sheet (Microsoft Office) computer software required. Working knowledge of restricted fund accounting, asset investment.
