The Health Unit Coordinator, under the direction of the charge nurse, processes and communicates written medical orders. Maintains patient records. Acts as receptionist promoting positive, efficient and effective customer service. Responsible for data entry of patient charges (both acuity and procedural) and other information as assigned.

The Health Unit Coordinator must demonstrate typing proficiency and have computer experience.

Medical Terminology required.

Six months previous Health Unit Coordinator experience preferred.

Completion of a Health Unit Coordinator course is preferred.

One year of clerical/secretarial experience preferred.

Must have excellent customer service skills and previous job related public contact.

Requires demonstrated ability to work effectively under periods of high stress.

Must type at least 30 WPM.

This is a Part time position which requires the candidate to work a variable shift including rotating weekends.
(Variable includes Day and Afternoon Shifts).
