Job: Medical Assistant - Dixon Middle School Clinic - PRN

The Intermountain Dixon Middle School Health Center has current openings for a Medical Assistant. The clinic is one of three school based health centers operated by Intermountain Healthcare. The clinic serves the school and neighborhood's children and their families. The clinic provides primary care services for both children and adults.


We are looking for a Medical Assistant I and/or Medical Assistant II to fill our staffing needs. The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible to provide quality care efficiently and cost effectively by assisting healthcare providers (physicians, physician's assistants and family nurse practitioners). The Medical Assistant functions under the supervision of the medical provider in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care process. The Medical Assistant performs diagnostic tests and provides appropriate documentation. This position requires the MA to float between the front office and the back office. In the Community and School Clinics the Medical Assistant is a "generalist" handling reception/clerical and clinical duties. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. This position reports directly to the clinic manager. He/she understands and utilizes a collaborative team based approach to patient care.

Requirements:

Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant course
Current Health Care Provider CPR certification
High school diploma or GED
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English and Spanish as demonstrated by passing the Intermountain Healthcare competency test
Must be able to perform physical demands of position (e.g. stand, lift, bend, twist for long periods of time)


Preferred Items:


Current certification for Medical Assistant from an accredited program


2 years work experience as MA in a physicians office or hospital medical setting
