Job: Patient Care Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator - L%26D Pool

The Patient Care Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients, provides excellent customer service when responding to the patient/family requests, reports and records patient care findings and data in a timely manner. Collaborates and consults with RN and other members of the interdisciplinary team for best patient care. This position will cross-train as a Health Unit Coordinator. Main responsibilities include answering phones, watching monitors, and processing the necessary paperwork. The Health Unit Coordinator also will greet visitors and maintain good customer service quality. This is a pool position to cover the 3 hospitals (Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Orem Community Hospital, American Fork Hospital) in Urban South Region.

Qualifications:

* CNA Certification or current enrollment in and successful completion of first clinical rotation in nursing program

* BLS Certification

* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

* Organization and prioritizing skills

* Physical ability to perform assigned duties

* Must be comfortable working with the safe disposal of blood and body fluids.

* Previous customer service experience


Preferred:

* Basic computer skills

* Previous CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience

* Current enrollment in a nursing school
