Job: Pediatric RN - Safe and Healthy Families - PRN

The purpose of this position is to assist with the provision of care in the assessment of children suspected of being victims of abuse and/or neglect. The incumbents will work with an APRN, MD in the Emergency Department or Safe & Healthy Families. The Safe and Healthy Families Forensic Nurse will execute patient care of children and their families which may involve forensic evidence collection and photo-documentation. Attention to detail is very important. There will be an orientation to this position working with patients in the SHF Medical Assessment Team Clinic and in the ED, as well as a 1 week sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) training class. Must be willing and able to respond to the ED within 30 minutes. The RN shall provide safe, efficient and therapeutically effective patient care, delivered within hospital policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards.

Call Requirement:
This prn position requires 2 eight hour on-call shifts per week. Of these two shifts/week, three shifts/month, must be weekends.

Must hold a current unrestricted Utah RN license. BLS required. Must have minimum of 1 year previous RN experience. Previous pediatric or emergency department experience strongly preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, is valued. Must be willing to work variable on-call shifts.
