Job: Pediatric Tech - Same Day Surgery - Full-Time

Location: UT-Salt Lake City
Facility: Primary Children%27s Med

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing assigned tasks and technical assistance to Surgical Services staff. The incumbent also serves as a liaison between Surgical Services staff and other departments.


Essential Responsibilities:

Technical Assistance - Check and assist with function of monitors and sensors
Equipment - Locate, set-up and trouble shoot various types of equipment
Department Support - Transport patients, stock supplies, assist with patient care routines
Clerical - Assist with clerical duties when not busy
Communicate effectively with team members
Willingness to crosstrain in various areas of the department
Must have the ability to effectively work in high stress situations at times

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift, stand, push, pull, bend, walk, and twist for long periods of time:
Must be able to push a hospital bed with a patient for distances throughout the hospital
Must be able to lift pediatric patients either assisted or unassisted
Basic Life Support Certification/CPR
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English


Preferred Qualifications:


Previous work experience in a pediatric clinical or clinical office setting


The ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in Spanish
