Job: Trauma Registrar - Primary Children%27s Medical Center

The trauma registrar's primary function is coordinating the activities of the trauma registry including identification of trauma patients, data collection, data entry, data reports, and maintenance of the trauma registry. This position will also provide administrative assistant support to the Trauma Service team members by taking minutes at meetings, setting appointments for the manager, arranging meeting space and other duties as assigned. This position involves performing data entry duties for extended periods of time. After an extensive training process it is expected that the Trauma Registrar be able to identify key indicators contained in data series in order to maintain the trauma registry. Position responsibilities do not include patient contact. There will be some flexibility with start and end times of shifts with the expectation that the number of scheduled hours can be performed during 3-5 weekdays of office work per week.

Minimum Qualifications


This position requires two years of clerical or medical experience and knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.


Required computer skills include intermediate abilities in data entry, spreadsheet development, and word processing,


The role requires the incumbent to be self-motivated and detail oriented to learn and develop procedures for database management and obtaining data for Trauma team members.


Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.



Preferred Qualifications


Prefer experience with extracting information from medical records, data registries, and AIS scoring.
