Job: Engineer (Web/Crystal Reports) - Financial Services Core Team - Contingent

**This is a Contingent Staff (Contract) position. We expect the length of this assignment to be not more than 6 months** Renewal or conversion is possible.

We are replacing one of the core financial systems responsible for handling the sacred funds of the church. This system will provide financial support for all church wards and stakes across the entire earth. We are looking for talented members of a core team who will be at the forefront of this effort. This position is for someone who would enjoy taking challenging problems and creating solutions that will meet the financial needs of the church for many years to come.


This project provides an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved not only with the creation of financial and banking services on a global scale but also to help prepare for the future growth of the work of the Lord.


The Church Information and Communication Systems department (ICS) has established a core set of Java technologies, including (but not limited to):
• JSF
• Spring
• Hibernate
• Maven


Ultimately, the success of the individual engineer is directly tied to the success of the engineering team. We need people that can focus on delivering high-quality solutions, quickly.

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently temple worthy

Strong communication and problem solving skills

3+ years of object oriented software development experience

Expert in Crystal Reports, and similar report generation tools

Experience with in java development including JEE technologies

Experience with large scale distributed systems design and development

Solid understanding of enterprise system and application design

Experience building software for the banking or other related financial industries is a plus

Experience with Service Oriented Architectures is a plus

Able to comfortably apply and recognize design patterns in determining algorithms, design constructs and in making architectural decision

BS/MS/PhD in CS or equivalent

Experience in database design and SQL

Knowledge of session management, object relational mapping, and XML web service
