Job: Oracle Database Engineer - Contingent

We are looking for a motivated, skilled, quality minded, and detail oriented individual to join our Database team. Are you the database go-to guy for your applications? Job Description
The Database Engineer will:
· Play an integral role in the success of the overall database team and projects, and be a constant advocate for enterprise information and technology vision, strategy, standards, and processes.
· Take a lead role in managing several Oracle databases (Create, upgrade, patch, manage space, manage security, manage backups and recoveries, database duplications and migrations, database monitoring, and all other database administration related activities).
· Provide expert database level tuning and performance skills, and keep large databases performing at maximum capabilities.
· Work with developers, managers, and users on database related projects, assignments, issues, and problems.
· Install and maintain new applications.
· Understand network and application/web server connectivity with regard to the database.
· Communicate very well in understandable terms as well as more complex technical terms with managers, developers, and users.
· Be creative and innovative in providing database solutions.
· Evaluate potential technologies for use within the enterprise, pushing technology to meet extreme business requirements.
· Perform database design and development duties to meet industry best practices. This includes both physical and logical design as well as implementation of the database as required by specific projects.
· Write database and application related documentation.
· Train users and other team members as required.
· Look for spiritual guidance in your daily decisions.

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently temple worthy.

Database administration experience and expertise on the Oracle RDBMS (5+ years).

1+ year of PL/SQL experience.

BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience.

Must be a team player, and have excellent communication skills.

Experience and expertise in design and integration of data is preferred.

Database baby sitters need not apply.
