Job: Quality Assurance Associate Engineer - Contingent

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has an urgent need for temple worthy church members to work as Software Quality Engineers. This posting represents a number of similar postings within ICS. This position is expected to last up to 1 year, but can be renewed for a 2nd year. There is also a possiblity of conversion to regular employment.

The ICS (Information and Communications Systems) department works on very wide range of applications that affect the global business and mission of the Church. They work in a fast-paced, agile, cutting-edge work environment with competitive salaries and excellent benefits.

Our QA Engineers are probably a little different than most. Our Quality Assurance Engineers work side by side with other development disciplines. They participate on every project and take part in the decisions concerning project scope, direction, readiness, etc. Our engineers demonstrate ownership, accountability, innovation, and commitment to their projects.

We need skilled software professionals who are excited to learn new tools and technologies. We need individuals who are detail oriented and motivated to use new skills. They need excellent communication skills. They need to know how to choose the best tools. Our QA Engineers need sharp troubleshooting skills. They need to be eager to break software quickly. They need the ability to evaluate priorities and focus on the most critical program areas.

Desired areas include knowledge and experience in any of the following areas:
Software testing tools
Selenium
J2EE applications
Web based applications
.Net
Internationalization and Localization testing
Performance or Load testing
Security testing
SQL Databases
Experience with gray box testing or comfortable learning & doing it
Driven to be extremely technical
Willingness to speak up
For most of our current openings:

Java familiarity is key... Most testing will likely be done in Java
Internationalization experience is HUGE plus - interest in internationalization is essential
Desire to work in a highly collaborative team is required
Involvement in managing complex test matrices
Experience in Agile is preferred
We are willing to mentor the right person on programming skills

Associates degree or 0-2+ years of relevant experience

Demonstrated working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language.

Must be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing
